By the by Dr. Dan, I could pretty much promise you if I were 16 now I wouldn't know who he was, I think he is more for the tween girl tiger beat crowd, so are you going to fess up and tell us you used to sneak a peak at Tiger beat when you were a lad?
Also, apparently this Justin Bieber kid is ubiquitous. I may have hated the New Kids on the Block with an active, seething passion (a good friend and I got into an argument about whether the Cure [her] or the B-52s [me] was a cooler band, but we both agreed that either was infinitely preferable to NKOTB), but I was at least aware of them. I think you would know who this kid is if you were the right age, charo.
ha, funny dr.dan. I dunno, if you look at a lot of tween idols from the 70's and 80's I think you might not recognize a fair chunk of them. For example, I heard of Menudo but outside of Ricky Martin I doubt I could have picked one out of a lineup. And with Ricky Martin it was only because of who he came to be later. Without the internet and 24 hour enfotainment shows back in the 70's and 80's it really wasn't hard to self segregate.
As to now, I already copped to knowing who he is above since I saw him on Letterman. And even without trying I know far too much about the life of Lyndsey Lohan than I would ever imagine possible a generation ago. But if I were 16 now, I would probably be spending way too much time looking at internet porn to pay attention to much of anything else. Luckily age has cooled that ardor

I had never heard of that kid. At all.
ReplyDeleteHe was on Letterman not too long ago. He is 16 going on 13 by all appearances.
ReplyDeleteAnd Tatum and I share a birthday. I absolutely adored her in Bad News Bears (don't worry, I was 12 when I saw it)
