Wordier than "I'm with Stupid"

But the message is the same. (H/t the Dish.)

  1. What is it about guys named 'Joe Wilson' and calling the President a liar?

  2. The guy's real name is Addison Graves Wilson Sr. and normally I wouldn't begrudge a guy choosing another moniker if he hates his own name, but he named his kid Addison Graves Wilson Jr. so I don't know what his deal is. This can easily be contrasted with Joseph C. Wilson, who at least have a real reason to be called Joe. Why do so many Republicans (or conservatives) choose chose ridiculous names, like Tripp, Addison, Track, Strom, Saxby, Darth, etc.

  3. Well, good news! The Senate Dems have decided to go back and fix the problems with illegal immigrants that President Obama assured us were not in the Healthcare bills. TPM puts it nicely, and by nicely I mean "in inherently self-contradictory fashion":

Quote "But though Wilson's allegation was false, and the political impact has been largely negative, Democratic leaders on the Senate Finance Committee seem to think it's worth fixing the non-existent problem Wilson was complaining about" Endquote.

The TPM article is also confused about the state of non-citizens and healthcare. Legal immigrants are indeed eligible for Obamacare. It would be wrong to exclude them.

  4. gj, the problem was not in the wording of the legislation but in the enforcement of it. The biggest problem though is that Republicans have been against a bio-metric US citizen card which would make enforcement easy, now enforcement means showing a ton of different id's. I went to fix my son's social security card because they spelled his middle name Francis as Franics. I brought his birth certificate, but they said that wasn't enough, they wanted 2 other forms of ID with his correct name on it, such as his insurance card and something like his baptismal certificate. All of this for something that was their mistake. This necessitated another trip and another wasted chunk of a day. Now, can you imagine the Republican provision of enforcement? A drivers license, phone and electric bill, pay stubs, soc. security card, etc. all designed to make it impossible to enroll. This is why I am for a bio metric id card keyed into our social security number, but the tin foil wearering Republicans are against it.
